The term ‘monitoring’ refers to the description of parameters at regular times and in a standardized way, in order to evaluate the progress made in the realization of planned targets or standards. Monitoring is only possible if targets and standards have been clearly quantified.

The INBO carries out or coordinates various monitoring activities.
